Who do we tutor?
We tutor adults, 17 years of age and older. The tutors work on reading and writing skills, English language skills, and life skills.
How long is tutoring?
Tutoring is only two hours a week! You can tutor one day for two hours or two days for an hour. You choose!
What are the requirements?
Tutors need to be 18 years old with a GED or High School Diploma with
a desire to make a difference. No previous teaching experience required.
Where does tutoring take place?
At this time, tutoring is virtual due to Covid. As things open up, you can tutor at any public location, including public libraries and at The Literacy Council. You choose the best location for you!
How do I become a tutor?
We offer online interactive New Tutor Workshops. After the training, you will be paired with a learner. In-person training is on hold due to Covid.
